WASHINGTON, DC – Better Solutions for Healthcare today joined over 20 organizations from across the ideological spectrum in signing a letter addressed to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden and Ranking Member Mike Crapo in support of the bipartisan Site-based Invoicing and Transparency Enhancement (SITE) Act. As Americans’ hospital bills continue to rise and many rate it as a top concern, the legislation sponsored by Senator Mike Braun (R-IN) and cosponsored by Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and John Kennedy (R-LA) would provide much-needed financial relief for millions of families by changing how corporate hospital systems conduct business.
“For too long, hospital systems have operated within a status quo that doesn’t make healthcare more affordable for patients,” said Connie Partoyan, Executive Director of Better Solutions for Healthcare. “The SITE Act would implement site-neutral reform and end dishonest billing, two measures that would begin to put patients ahead of hospital profits. Better Solutions is proud to stand with more than 20 organizations who encourage the Senate Finance Committee to take action.”
